Balances and withdrawals
The planned trading app separates balances by asset and by what the funds are being used for. The private prototype demonstrates this with practice balances.
| Balance | Meaning | Can it be withdrawn? |
|---|---|---|
| Available | Funds ready to use | Yes, through a withdrawal |
| Reserved | Funds set aside for an open order | Only after the unused reservation is released |
| Locked | Funds committed to a filled contract | After settlement credits the resulting available balance |
Placing an order
Section titled “Placing an order”The app reserves the authorized input so it cannot also fund another order. The issuer’s conversion input and the buyer’s positive payment are accounted for separately.
A fill uses the needed reservation and creates locked funds. An open remainder keeps the reservation needed for its remaining size.
Cancellation and expiry
Section titled “Cancellation and expiry”Canceling an unfilled remainder or letting it expire releases its unused reservation back to available balance. It does not release assets already locked in fills.
Direct swaps
Section titled “Direct swaps”A successful direct swap credits all actual output to the issuer’s available balance. It does not create a locked position or require settlement.
Settlement
Section titled “Settlement”After a valid settlement, each participant’s allocation moves to their available balance. The credit happens once for each fill. A failed transaction must leave the balances unchanged.
Withdrawal
Section titled “Withdrawal”A withdrawal moves available tokens from the protocol to the owner’s wallet. It is a separate step from settlement and may require network fees.
An entry pause must still allow cancellation, release of expired reservations, valid settlement, and withdrawals. Production contracts and their controls still need implementation and review.
There is no public trading deposit service today. Do not treat a prototype balance as tokens held for you on a blockchain. See what is available.
